How Might We Make the Virtual Learning Environment More Accessible at the London College of Communication Through a Design Management Lens? - Design Research Methods and Critical Practice

OVERVIEW

The project investigated the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) at the London College of Communication, focusing on the experiences of the MA Design Management cohort. The research sought to identify barriers to usability, including navigation challenges for users, inconsistent layouts, and limited feedback mechanisms, while also exploring the broader systemic gaps in stakeholder collaboration. Using frameworks like the Double Diamond and POUR, the study integrated stakeholder perspectives through interviews, surveys, and workshops. The insights informed a proposed redesign of the VLE to enhance accessibility, usability, and engagement, leveraging design management principles for sustainable solutions.
