Transition Living Lab Intervention - Systemic Design Framework
OVERVIEW
The Transition Living Lab brief embodied an innovative, experimental approach to tackling systemic challenges faced by displaced communities. Leveraging 'learning-by-doing' workshops, the initiative aimed not only to co-design optimistic futures but also to embed the principles of the Design Council's Systemic Design Framework. The intervention was methodically structured, providing a clear pathway for collaborative exploration and problem-solving.
The process unfolded through the Double Diamond framework, detailing the stages of research, problem definition, ideation, and solution development. Key elements included an in-depth examination of research processes, the framing of questions, and a reflective approach to collaboration. To conclude, the project was evaluated through a design management lens, incorporating insights from Scharmer’s Theory U to reflect on the journey holistically and critically assess the outcomes.
