The Golden State Warriors for Social Justice

Coverage of an event where the Golden State Warriors' Head Coach Steve Kerr spoke at an Oakland rally, spearheaded by the Black Organizing Project and noted East Bay activist Pastor Mike McBride, highlighted efforts to eliminate the Oakland Unified School District's police force. They advocated for systemic change, calling on White America to actively support Black communities. 

This effort was part of the Warriors' broader activism to raise awareness about police use of force and combat systemic racism. Warriors players, including Stephen Curry, participated in the demonstration at Lake Merritt. These actions were aimed at fostering social justice and addressing issues of police brutality.
